"Del Boy did it!! On his second visit to Horse of the Year Show where he stood Best Traditional Pony last year, he won the class and took the reserve Champion Coloured 2010!!"

We are a small, private yard who breed and show Traditional Cobs. We respect and embrace the ancient romany principles that put together the wonderful Gyspy Cob and keep them in mind when breeding our stock for the future. Good quality bloodlines always leads to good quality shape, limbs and feather and is always foremost in our mind when breeding cobs... we will not compromise on quality! A minimal marked animal may not always constitute a good show or breeding animal! Flat bone, silky hair and good feet are a must.

The fantastic nature of these animals and majestic outlook homepage1makes them amongst countless other jobs, an ideal candidate for the show ring. Until not very long ago, these "coloured creatures" were frowned upon in the professional show circuit, but their evergrowing popularity and introduction to Horse of the Year Show has created a whirlwind of coloured showing enthusiasts, both amateur and professional. Please take a look at our pages and your comments are always welcome...

Traditional Show CobsVisitors via appointment are always made welcome (after an initial inspection by our Jack Russell Terriers & pet Rotty!) All people who pass the inspection will receive tea, coffee and a small guided tour around our stock and the working forge where Andrew will usually be hand making his remedial and specialist shoes for clients the following week…

News!

October 2011

We are now filling the diary with breaking and schooling ponies to be sent to us over the winter period....If you would like to discuss having your horse/pony broken to ride or drive please drop us an email or call 07980 570982 as spaces are limited.  Lots of references available from happy clients!

Dont forget also, if you are thinking of using one of our stallions for next year for your mare, book them in early as we are limited in numbers each boy will serve, so as to keep the value of the foals as high as possible...

CHAPS Championships 2011

We had a fab time! Great to catch up with everyone and have a giggle over a few drinks :) The only problem with the champs is that you have to get up really early the next day to bath again and be ready for the first classes!

Tango (In Your Dreams) our little baby superstar was 2nd in the Novice Ridden Traditional/Native Pony, 2nd in the Restriced Final and 1st in the young 4-5 yr old ridden horse class. He also stood 2nd in the Inhand Graded Stallion. He was perfectly behaved all weekend and we were really pleased with how well he went and how good he was in the evening performances!

Stan (Heartbreaker) also took his first champs in his stride complete with loud and electric evening perfomances! He was 1st in the Novice Traditional Pony and also 1st in the small Traditional Pony Final.

We were thrilled that the fantastic 3 yr old colt "Beau Diddley" now owned by Mrs M Cuerden was perfectly behaved for his first youngstock evaluation and gained a First Premium with Andrew. He will return to us after HOYS for breaking and will contend the novice horse classes next year with Michelle. Photos below.. For more photos and results please see our Facebook Page!

NPS Summer Champs, Malvern 5th Aug 2011

After his second at CHAPS Northern & Lincolnshire County and a couple of other close calls, Stan grabbed his first HOYS ticket by winning at NPS and Freaky stood a very close second.  He has reallly grown up over his first season and is going more and more like an established open pony..we are looking forward to taking him to HOYS with no pressure as its his first trip there!

The Royal International Horse Show 2011

Our first trip to the International since grading our stallions with the BSPA in spring 2011 was a huge success!!

Stan (Heartbreaker) performed very well infront of a big crowd and finished 3rd in the Small Traditional/Native pony final. A real achievement we thought in his first season!

Freaky also was impeccably behaved for our friend's 14 year old daughter Hannah Monk and they finished 5th.  Hannah & Freaky have had a super season together, with lots of success - the greatest being their win at Cheshire County Show in June and taking their ticket for Royal International 2012 too!

Del Boy had his first trip out on grass since winning at Lincolnshire County in 2010 and didnt fail to impress! He gave a foot perfect show and finished at the top of a huge line for the Native/Traditional & Show Cob final up to 15hh. He is now one of only a few to have won at Horse of the Year and Royal International Horse Show....his babies will definately have a very famous dad now!! To top off our fantastic day, Andy won Best Dressed Groom award!!
